Worked stock head similar to race head??

Will i get close to the same gains if i have my buddy work my stock head?

he will port and dimple the intake tract and port and polish the exhaust tract. allong with smooth out all short side radii. And then I would add a TB race cam. will this be close to the gains of a race head. I just dont want to spend that much on a race head since all i have to buy is a cam and he'll work my head for free.



BTW: he is a proffesional. not some shade tree tech lol.

well my shade tree tech as u call it, on my tb regular head, with my porting ran neck and neck with motardeds unported race head 88 kit awhile back when he had his old bike, so yes

I was planning on running a stock head on that engine so I gave mafia my race head intake since he did all the porting and stuff...and I didnt want to run a big intake on a stock head, so we just traded. it all got stolen anyway. I hate people.

The only reason that stock head 88 was close to your race head was because you had a damn stock head intake on it, it couldnt breath. No way in hell a stock head, even ported is going to be close to a race head, due to valve size and a small combustion chamber. I know, I ran a ported stock head for a while, and I put the race head on, and it was as if my bike had the 88 kit added all over again.

ha u swear like the stock head intake made a difference, the bike i built rips, motarded agrees, if ne thing the smaller intake helped with the velocity lol, ill run it up to a race head with the right intake anyday
