    Suspension Upgrade w/o Valving?

    Hi all,

I'm currently converting a 150r for mini moto. It's time to focus on suspension...

Has anyone replaced only the springs and kept the stock valving? I weigh 125 w/o gear and am hoping to cut some costs off the conversion. The rear is super soft (haven't touched any settings yet) and granted in the end it comes down to taking the bike to the track and testing everything out, but I'm hoping some of you can offer some insight/experience!

Welcome to PM! Your valving should be fine, got old oil in your forks/shock, just freshing them up and they will work better and feel better.

In my eyes suspension is the number one area to focus on, have you seen the video on YouTube where the guy set a track record on a ninja 300? That's pretty damn impressive, talent is number one then handling then engine. If you can't turn you can't win...

Lots of people wonder if they should have their valving done, however if they don't set up the sag and play with the clickers or slide their forks up or down their not going to know what they want or what it can do. Get the proper spring rate, set the sag and start playing with the clicker's, maybe adjust the fork height ,then if you need to, get it revalved
