I just traded my 2001 Honda xr80 (i got for $450) for a 2007 crf70. Its all stock but i have pretty big plans for it. I plan i replacing the motor with a piranha 140. Is this a good idea as far as reliability and problem free riding? Also, any suggestions on cheap tall bars? I cant wait to start riding pitbikes again as im coming off a badly broken arm and dont want start full on motocross for a few more months. Heres a pic I snapped in the garage tonight-
DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM PCC. They have the absolute worst customer service base out of any website around. Go with a TBR or BBR seat, they are on the classifieds pretty often.
If a mini is considered an iron pony, and an pony is relatively half the size of a horse. Does that mean it only has .5 Horsepower?
If it was me go with the 140. If you change the oil break it in right then it's a solid motor and will last just as long as a Honda. As far as forks try fastace or springs and rods in the stock forks. And fox float for rear

I wouldn't hesitate to put a Piranha or Pitster Pro 140 in my 70. I'm running a Pitster Pro 140 in a SSR B2. The 140 is a sweet engine, tons of torque down low with kind of a flat top end but I like riding down low in the RPM so it works great for me. You don't hear about problems with the 140s like you do with the china 125s and 150/160s, not sure why but you don't... I bought one of those tall seats and while they look great, they're hard as rock. I didn't use mine for long enough to have the foam break down so I couldn't say for that. It sucks though because theres not a lot of options for 70 seats. BBR makes a tall seat foam for 70s (which I'm sure is the bomb) but its a 110 bucks! As for tall bars, I run Pro Taper SE XR50 bend bars with a stock CRF80 (its longer than the stock 70 cable to make up for the taller bars) and I dig them a lot. Here's a picture of the setup.

Technically it will but it looks like ass though because it gets so tight with the taller bars, it pretty much runs a straight line from the perch down to the drum. With the 80 cable you get the nice bend in the cable and it looks so much better. Its only like 15 bucks for the CRF80 cable.
Protaper bmx racers on mine & a crf100 brake line. I'm running a tb88rh but would have thrown in the stroker crank at the same time if I had to do it again. I'm running an ebay tall seat & it's been fine for a year. Also running an ebay +2 swinger & fastace shock. Bbr springs & 80 rods up front. Nice little budget bike.
