    108cc BBK Questions

    Hey all,

    I am looking into getting a 108 stroker kit for my 70 but I want to know if you need the 88 kit with Race Head or if I can get away with just the 88 kit WITHOUT the Race Head. Also, If I need to get the race head, does that mean that I need to get both the 88 kit AND the Race Head kit for the 88.

    You could use your stock 70 head if you want to. You can buy your kit many different ways. Maybe pick your vendor then message them, tell them what you want. They could put a kit together for you to fit your needs...108 kit, with or without race head and carb, for a x year xr xl cl sl crf ct70.

    You can run the stock 70 head with a 52mm bore (88cc) and 51mm stroke crank (stroker) to yield 108cc
    and this would be a nice buget build
    however
    the race head has bigger valves and hotter cam

    108cc BBK Questions

    Yeah it is a budget build. I've been looking to beef up the motor for quite some time now but have never gotten around to it. As of now the parts list consists of: 88 kit w/o race head, High Volume oil pump, Mikuni 22mm carb kit, 108 Stroker crank (kit 1), and the clutch tool and 2mm drill bit. Without the drill bit and clutch tool the total comes out to be just under $400 which is pretty cheap. I would spring for the race head but 1) its expensive and 2) i ride in my neighborhood a lot and the extra noise might not be very well fed over. Thanks for the help!
