    Northern Ontario mini addict...

Hi, my name is Sean and I have a problem...

    But don't we all?

Anyway, I've been lurking for what seems like years... Oh wait, it has been years!

I think I'm above, ummm ok WELL above the average age of the members here but I'm young at heart.
Despite the fact that I ride and race bigger bikes, over the years I've accumulated a fair amount (maybe unfair to some LOL) of small bikes and trikes. I'm not partial to Hondas by any means but it seems the majority are just that, or at least clones. I love to ride but as I get older I'm finding that I also love to spend time in the garage, the Gronkshop, either fixing or tinkering. I have three boys and for all intents and purposes they are teenagers (the youngest is 12) and that alone keeps me busy wrenching.

If you're curious about the handle, a Gronk is basically someone not very smart that can lift heavy things.

I really enjoy this forum, it has a very friendly atmosphere and the members are very quick to help and share knowledge.

Sorry it took so long to reply...I'm in the Sudbury area.

    Bikes...

GronkBike, a 2005 KTM 525EXC: Bullshit bike. Plated for the street, I've raced Rallies, Enduros, Hare Scrambles, XC and even MX with it.

Little GronkBike, a 2007 KTM 250XCF-w: My actual XC and Hare Scramble race bike.

Dutchess, a 2004 KTM 950 Adventure: It is nice on the road but it often sees dirt. (I can't help it. LOL)

The track weapon, a 2001 KTM 520SX: Because the suspension on the 525EXC isn't sprung for MX and I was going to hurt myself or break something.

The Separator, a 1986 Honda CR500: Separates shoulders, separates the men from the boys, separates me from my money because it eats rear tires... The Separator.

1982 Honda Xr100: A beater for the boys.

2003 Honda CR85: Another boys bike.

A bunch of small orange bikes: The two Mini-Adventures are now gone. I still have the 65SX but it's been outgrown so it's being sold. And a 125cc Chinese pitbike I used to chase the boys with when they were younger.

1984 Honda ATC70: Bonfire refreshment replenishment vehicle. Because it doesn't fall down. LOL
Previous owner hit it with a spray bomb but I practically stole it for $300 so I didn't complain.

    A couple project bikes: 1978 Honda CT90 and 1969 Honda QA50.

$40 at a yard sale. RUNS!!!

    The BigFat, mostly a 1982 Honda ATC200E, some 200X and 79 CR250 parts also.

Project Honda CT90, can't remember what year.

    Project 1987 Honda XL185S:

MiniPit (project), 1991 Kawasaki KX80 with a 110cc pitbike engine.

There's more...lots more. You may have noticed some other bikes in the backgrounds.
1983 Kawasaki KX80: Boys ride it like a rented mule
    1984 Honda ATC 125M
    1974 Honda ST90: (project)
    Various Chinese pitbikes...
    1976 Honda Z50A (project)
    1980 Honda CT70 (project)
    1967 Suzuki K15P Hillbilly (project)
    1970 Kawasaki Trail Boss (project)
    1969 Suzuki TC120 (project)

Oh... Frankescooter: Power pack from a Honda Aero50 combined with an old minibike frame.

    I know I'm forgetting a few... LOL

Just picked up some more bikes for cheap.

1975 CT70. Pretty ratty but complete.

1972 Z50A. Again pretty rough but complete.

And finally an incomplete 1973 Z50A and spare motor cases.

A couple hundred bucks for all three might seem high to some but I didn't have a tank, fenders, a side cover or even a chain guard for my 76. Pretty sure I can make runners out of the rat bikes.

    Thanks.

BWs go for ridiculous money around here so I built my own, sorta.

The BigFat was a landfill rescue and it was taking up too much room in the garage. The motor had been sitting outside without a spark plug for probably a decade but I ran a hone through it and installed new rings and to my surprise it doesn't smoke at all. I lapped the valves and put new valve seals too. But I think water knackered the bottom end. It runs but the crank knocks quite a bit. I built the bike to make a hiking trail at my hunt camp. It's pretty remote and is the only camp on the lake. I didn't want a quad trail so I decided to build the right tool. It has Hi-Lo range and can go almost anywhere. I made it so it can carry a chainsaw, a fuel can and a small cooler because it's several miles around the lake.

It's faster than I thought it would be, faster than I want to go on the thing anyway. But low-range works so well I'll leave the gearing as is.
