    pancake filters

i have heard that these filters get sucked into the carb sometimes, are there any filters that maybe have a reinforcement that doesn't let this happen or are all pancake filters going to get sucked in. also as far as performance goes the u-flow and pancake filter are going to see the same results correct? i understand the uflow will keep the filter cleaner but i can't see how it would make any performance increases. i am just a fair weather rider anyways so the pancake one won't get to dirty. thanks for any input
