    Just had this happen in my sons stock 05. Not to hard to fix but really expensive to fix after the fact. Mine destroyed the oil bearing in the gear that rides on the oil hole so I had to replace the whole gear cause I was told the bushing can't be replaced seperate. Also chewed up a couple other gears. Would highly reccomend replacing before you have problems.

    if you break one what else happens other than just haveing to replace the output shaft?

    mine broke and I just had to replace the output shafte but i mean you have to buy all new seals cuz they will have to split your case and take your engine apart to put a new output shaft in their

    is there any way to tell i stock one from an oem one. i got a new bike and im not sure if it is a stock output shaft or not

    you need to split the cases to replace the output shaft correct? Also what is the function of the output shaft?

    Yes, you need to split the cases to change it. It is the shaft that the counter shaft sprocket goes on.

    is it right in there near where ud but in the 4th gear?

    i hear its best to do both same time..

    also what are all the parts ill need? what gaskets? seals? and any other things?

    I am tearing down my motor that has had the cases split, but I don't really no the history on the motor. How can I determine if the motor has the stock output shaft or an aftermarket. Casting numbers are shaft measerement sizes? My motor Is an 06,

    Same question here, I recently bought a 2002 with a 134 kit in it and the thing rips but I'm worried about the shaft and was wondering this same thing the other day??

    I ride a 2003 DRZ110 and installed the 08 kawa output shaft. And it broke! Where is the difference to the bbr output shaft?

    i think i broke my output shaft. When I try to start it, the kickstart lever slips to the bottom of the stroke. I took the clutch cover off and I can see the end of the out put shaft. it spins freely and slides in and out about a half inch... the kick start gear seems fine, the clutch seems fine. I know I will need seals and gaskets but I can buy a gasket set for $30.

    How hard is it to change the output shaft?

    Anyone know a site that sells good ones for cheap?
