TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
Not a pro on the pitbike so dont make fun of me
. Im looking to put the 165 kit with the V2 race head in. While in there Id put in the HD output shaft. I think the 165 comes with a 28mm carb. Would all of this work out ok? I dont want to bore the cases or anything too hard like that. Also, would i need the 55 mm stroker crank, if so what do i need it for. Thanks for all the help.

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you have to bore the cases if you install the 55mm crank with a 64mm piston. Even if it is a S-cut piston. If you're going to use the 28mm carb I would prefer the pwk dslide keihin.

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
what would you jet a pwk with this setup? or start

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
112 main
42 pilot
4th clip position
Fuel screw 1 turn out.

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
Im not sure if you have to bore the cases or not? I dont even know why you would replace the stroker crank anyway.

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
Well if you run a stroked 165 you have to bore the cases.

I read somewhere that the s-cut didn't require bored cases. That may or may not be stroked though. I still have some more research to do.

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
165scut 55mm stroke, no case boring, 178 scut 55mm stroke, cases need to be bored. 165 and 178 scut stock stroke, no case boring.

if u dont have the stroker wouldnt u have to bore it any way? or is that just the tb kit?

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
the 165 and 178 s-scut are short skirted pistons, therefor do not need the cases to be bored when using a stock crank...if you use a 55mm stroke crank, the 178 will need case boring. the 165 still wont need the cases bored.

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
Okay so haha in conclusion, i wont need the cases bored the direction im going? also what is the difference between the 28mm carb and the-pwk dslide keihin like Prowen said. Thanks for the help guys

Re: TB 165cc V2 Big Bore
i have the tb scut kit the 28mm carb the v2 race head with a s35 decomp cam and the 55mm stroker crank i didnt have to do anything to cases and my bike hauls major ass easily come up in a wheelie in third gear its a monster! the valve train is kinda loud with the cam and the rollers and also the bbr skid plate adds some harmonics to it too but other then that it runs perfect. Just make sure you have the piston at the end of its stroke when you kick it over cuzz even with the decomp cam it will still kick back sometimes if you dont kick it good. And you might want to get an hour meter if you dont have one cuzz youll want to replace the piston in about 30 hours the short skirt pistons dont last as long, but just for a new cylinder and piston is only 218 bucks so 218 bucks for 30 hours ill take it. i have about 9 on mine now and shes still running beautiful.
