It will help with kick back. It opens the exhaust valve alittle to take the pressure and strain off the internals until the engine starts. Then after it starts the engine runs normal.

Basically it makes it easier to start big bore kits and keeps you from snapping the output shaft while kickstarting.

I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with BBR a couple weeks ago, and they say that not much will retro fit into the 2009 and back motors. I'm thinking about getting a 2010, and putting the motor in my 2003, and parting the rest. I'd need to plug the Estart hole with something though. --L*64

don't think that they will retrofit onto other cams. remember that the camshaft has to be bored and some form of ball that pulls in, or a half moon shaped deal that turns when over 300 or so rpm is reached has to be installed. any cams not already designed with the decomp, won't be bored for this. the actual actuation piece (weight and such) may bolt on, but there is no where for the piece that actually opens the valve to go. i have already thought about going that way

on the same note. i am running tb cam in my 143, and thinking of how much difference the cam will make by going back to possibly a 2010 stock cam with decomp. obvioisly i don't want to lose too much power. but if it isn't noticable, it will maek the bike a little more enjoyable for the wife. point of question. is there a drastic difference between 2010 stock cam lift/duration and tb cam that comes with their kit without race head. thanks
