help ttr110 rejetting???

i just put a fmf 4.1 exhaust on with the gytr high flow air filter, and when i went to rejet it i couldnt get the needle out! i tried everyway i could possibly think of to get it out! it looks as if it has to come out of the top of the sliding assembly but i cant get it out? has anyone else had this problem? is there some trick that im just missing? i went ahead and changed the main jet from the stock 56 to 80 and the pilot to 15 from the stock 12.5. i could feel the power gain but it seems to bog as if it is running lean, everytime i go into 4th gear, it bogs all the way through mid throttle and then it kicks in at around 3/4 to full throttle! will the changing the needles make a significant difference!? thanks
