A plastic tote works good for shipping engines, or drain it and double box it up and send it.

I shipped a YZ125 engine once, put it in a rubber maid tote surrounded by bubble wrap and crunched up news paper, then put that in a card board box surrounded by more packing.

I sent Daytona DOCH from Estonia to France about 1,5months ago. New owner was very happy how i packed the engine. Tapet the cardbox heavily and it was all good. Put a big piece of polystyrene on the bottom of the crate, placed the engine on it and packed all the sides heavily and put big piece of polystyrene on the top.

the big pieces of styrofoam from a ceiling fan box works good to put on top and below the motor to keep it from busting through the cardboard. If there is a Pier 1 or similar store near you they ALWAYS have a ton of different shape and size boxes in the dumpsters behind them for free cardboard

Rubbermaid plastic tote with lots of cardboard and big styrofoam pieces packed in tight. Then drill holes around the outside of the lid and zip tie it closed. Shipped like that many times never had a problem. Price depends how far you are shipping.
