BBR klx110 top end rattle.

This is a discussion on BBR klx110 top end rattle. within the KLX110, DRZ110, TTR90 forums, part of the General Talk category; I just got a new BBR full mod klx110, there is a rattle, not a quite one. I'm almost positive it's coming from the top ...

    BBR klx110 top end rattle.

    I just got a new BBR full mod klx110, there is a rattle, not a quite one. I'm almost positive it's coming from the top end, should i be worried? if so what should i do?

    P.S bore kit is the 143cc by TB with racing head.

    Race heads make noise, it's the valves is all, completely normal. I was worried too at first when my engine made a rattle/tick sound but got over it. Make sure your valves are at the correct last and your cam chain isn't sloppy. Is it coming from the head?

    not sure exactly where its coming from.. its load though, I believe it starts (or gets loader) when i rev it..

    Valves get louder as the RPMs increase. Do you have access to a camera to snag a video? It's incredibly hard to diagnose from here.

    I do, but at the moment my clutch is taken apart, would be together but i broke the right engine cover gasket. once its all together i will start it up and video it.

    Sounds like its about to blow up! Sell your bike to me for super cheap

    But seriously, valve noise is different than a rattle. If I were you, and I had any doubts, I would tear that engine completely down, grab my mic or calipers, and measure every little piece.

    ok if i am going to tear the top end down, do i need the "special tools" in the service manual?

    dont tear it down unless your going to rebuild it.. if its a ticking sound thats loud and you have a v2 head you have nothing to worry about thats just the sound they make..

    okay found out i got the v2, so its normal? its like easy to hear and my bike is really loud..

    cover on the left side of the head take the 4 bolts out and there it is. the cam sprocket and chain
