    TB155 vs tb143 reliability

This may be a dumb question, but reliability-speaking, is there any difference between going from a 143 to the 155 with the addition of the 55mm crank? Also would a 155 be too much in a stock mod, and would it still be ride-able in trails, or should I go with a 143? I don't want a full-blown race engine I have to rebuild every 15 hours, I want something bulletproof like a 88 stock head kit I ran the piss out of for 4 years in my xr50 lol.

Only big bore klx I've ever ridden was a 177 or something

The 143 with the stroker crank is going to be a lot for the auto clutch to hold ,you would have to run all stiff springs and it would be hard to shift .

The 143 is very reliable even with the stroker crank ,

From the sounds of it the 143 kit would be perfect

Thanks for the reply! My engine has the chp manual clutch, but thats it as far as I know.. Is the 143 a significant power increase, or would I be better off saving up for Stroker crank to install that the same time as the shift drum and output shaft?
Anyone have any rough estimate guesses on hp numbers with a 143 or 155 engines, both with v2 heads and appropriate carbs?

Either way you should buy my 143 kit in the for sale section! I am an advocate for the stroker though!

mine is holding up great so far. Plenty hours on it. I think it'll be fine for a stock mod. Once you get a racehead and the motor is craving for high rpm, then it'll be a bit much to handle unless you are riding on glass....

A 155 is a bit much to me for a stock mod especially for trail riding I have a 155 full mod and I'm clearing most jumps at our local big bike track to me it takes the fun out of STOCK MOD 143 is plenty for trail riding in my experience the 155 hasn't been as much fun as the the 143 was because I'm blowing all my friends away and I could go on but just trying to give advice to a fellow rider good luck!

I personally love having the ability to blow my friends away! you dont always have to twist it wide open. Plus I like the down low of the stroker for climbing steep hills on the trails!
