    4speed drum install question

I just got the cases back together after installing a TB 4 speed drum. I know I didn't get the forks switched around. It'll shift from neutral to first. But that seems to be it. Any ideas? I'm about to pull the right case cover off and examine the shift linkage to see if I possibly (and hopefully) don't have it installed correctly. Any suggestions would be deluxe. I don't want to split the cases again until I've exhausted all else. I really think it's installed correctly. I installed it in neutral as directed by the manual.

Its probably the shift linkage. If you shift it when the cover is off it pops out of place.

I had to work on one that did the same kind of thing. After tearing it down found out the previous owner had put the forks into the wrong slots on the shift drum. I hope its some thing simpler but that was my experience.
Make sure your shift star didnt loose a pin because that would do the same thing and that is a quick fix.

I'll look into it tonight. But I'm wondering if I could have put the forks in the wrong slots. Without looking at it, I can't say. But I'm hoping that I didn't set the linkage up right. I know the pin in the shift star is in properly. That's one of teh few things I can rule out at this point. I've split many cases, and these were a pain to split as well as reinstall. It was weird.
