stock pb18 carb pilot airscrew question

I have a stock 2012 KLX110L and from looking at the carb the pilot air screw is either blocked/capped off or is there a special tool needed to adjust? The brass looking top looks like possibly a plug. Does this plug need to be drilled out to adjust/reach the head of the actual pilot air screw?

    Thank you

The microfiche diagram shows the air screw, spring, and o-ring, I would think if it was plugged off, they wouldn't show the part in the fiche as being available.

Yes I too looked at the same carb parts diagram. I know I have another bike (suzuki) that from the factory the pilot fuel (not air though) screw was blocked off with a brass plug that can easily be drilled out. I didn't want to go drilling here though without confirming what may be here. Surprised this is not mentioned anywhere in these forums? I am just looking to fine tune with a posh pipe I have installed.

So the consensus is the pilot airscrew is is covered or fixed (no adjustment range)?

are you talking about the brass adjustment needle that sort of has a D shaped cap? if so that is not a plug/cap. there is a special tool to adjust it, but what I did was backed it out with a pair of needle nose pliers far enough that I could take a dremel and notch it so I could use a flat head screw driver to adjust further. manual calls for 1 1/4 turns out stock. I can snap a pic when I get home from work

I bought the special tool instead of cutting up my airscrew.
