    2017 KLX110L - Just added Factory 4.1 Exhaust - Concerns?

I am excited to have found this forum. I bought my son a 2017 KLX110L and switched out the stock exhaust for a Factory 4.1 FMF. I have read some of the issues here and did run across them, but was able to work around them and get everything installed.

All said, the instructions (one of the rare few to read them?) mentioned using the stock "rubber bumper" on the new muffler. There was no rubber bumper. That was issue number one.

Issue number two, after I started it, I realized the plastic side plate was going to melt. I trimmed it down and cut some of it out so the header and silencer had some clearance.

Has anyone else had these same issues? It works, all is good, but kinda looks like a botched job since I had to do some trimming.

Even the OEM diagram does not show a rubber bumper.

Any insight would be great. Click image for larger version.

That sucks you had to trim the plastic. I know a pro circuit t4 will clear fine but a t5 can hits the number plate. I swapped the silencers on my bike with L plastics and the PC header clears fine though.

Could you have maybe stacked some washers behind the plastics so you didn't have to chop it up?
I'm not to familiar with fmf pipes on minis so I'm not sure if that is something that is common or not.

It came with a large spacer on the lower bolt. The only place it rubbed was the header and back where there is supposed to be a rubber bumper. No biggie. I might try to modify the bolts and add more spacers at some point and buy a new side plate. But my son loves it and it made a world of difference in the way it runs so we shall see. I might call FMF Monday and talk to them as well.

I have an fmf 4.1 on my 110, but mine is not an L model. my headers does hit the number plate slightly, and the can does touch the inside slightly aswell. I didn't have any issues with the silencer melting the number plate, but the header did just slightly. it didn't stick to the pipe at all, it just melted it a tiny bit. if you zoom in on the pic you can see and I haven't had any further problems since.
