Klx 110 stripped oil filter bolt threads

Getting ready to do a helicoil on my oil filter threads and want to confirm if the correct heli coil kit is m6x1? Already have the kit but the coils in the package seem loose on the bolt.

Once you've drilled the hole out with the right size drill bit and re-tapped the hole with the right size tap, you'll find that the bolt will be snug after you've installed the heli-coil in place.

    M6 x 1.0 is the correct size

Thats what I thought. Can you remember what size drill bit to use?

I'll have to look in my Heli-Coil kit tomorrow to get the drill bit size for you.

    It takes a 1/4" drill bit for the M6 x 1.0 Heli-Coil

Got the heli coil in and it's a little crooked it still works fine. The coil is angled downward. Everything still came together fine and no oil leaking. Has anyone else had a coil go in crooked? Maybe the holed wasn't bored straight?

Quite possibly the tap threaded in at a slight angle after you drilled it out?
