How to ID some parts on a klx I bought

Hey guys I just picked up an 03 Klx 110 for my shop class students to work on. The cases are broken at the footpeg mounts so new cases are on the way, can't wait to see how middle school students react to tearing a bottom end apart...

My problem is I don't know how to identify if aftermarket parts are in the bottom end.

The bike on the outside has a TBparts 143 kit with a race head and 26mm carb kit, FMF Powercore 4 pipe, HD cradle engine mount and the suspension is done.

It seems someone did the bike the right way until someone screwed with the footpeg mounts, they had these sketchy brackets welded to the frame to keep the footpegs from bending down, but with no bolts going into the motor mount holes so the freakin mount was just floating around and made the cradle bracket useless.

So how do I ID an HD output shaft and 4 speed shift drum? The bike also has an issue with shifting, I think the shift shaft is bent, its a long throw to shift and the shift star doesn't get grabbed after that.

The hd output shaft will not have an oiling hole on the clutch side of the shaft. Or the right side of it.. the shift drum will be slightly harder if it is already removed from the bike. But anything aftermarket will likely be branded. And you could try to count the amount of steps in the shift fork path. Also if it has an aftermarket crank the TBolt ones are stamped with their signature "b"

As far as the shifting.. the throw is typically pretty long on these. On my 06 I ordered the takegawa short throw shift kit for that reason and it made it much more comparable to a big bike. Again if the motor is taken apart mine didn't shift correctly without at least spinning the crank but really never shifted right till I got it all back together.

I think you mean Trailbikes, Chandler, Vince at TBolt does not have his own brand of parts, he is an Authorized Dealer for Trailbikes. This is the logo you were referring to, correct?

Bottom to top: stock- takegawa with 4th gear- kitaco with 4th gear. I dont have a tb one at the moment but its a similar form as the takegawa drum in the middle just dark grey.

From left to right they are brand stsmped kitaco and takegawa. The tb parts drum (trail bikes)will not be stamped so just look to see if its smooth all around like the takegawa drum.bbr drum id shinny around the drum.
