KLX rear set up help needed

I am building a KLX for my 8 yr old. Running KX65 front end and the KX65 rear with disk set up on the stock swingarm. Works great, but after jumping.... and bottoming out, he complains that his back hurts.... dang kid. I am trying to avoid dumping another 1k into this thing, because I have not started on the motor yet. Does anyone have suggestions (or for sale) on what swingarm/shock combo would work and not thin my wallet out to bad. He weighs about 65 lbs.

Oh, does it need to be a long travel? Would a +3 swingarm be good? I want to make sure that whatever I run, brings the rear up a few inches. One last thing, is the Red Barron 290 mm shock an option with other companies swingarms?

    Thank you for the help.

I have 65 forks and a sik110 swinger with elka and it feels real good. But yea, a +3 would be fine. I dropped the forks an inch up front and it evened out the bike height wise.

Brio could u post some pics? What do you need to run this setup on the stock parts? Just some custom mounts for the calipers?

I'll post some pics when I figure out how to do it. The rear only required fabing a mount for the master. The rear wheel/caliper assem fit great into the stock swingarm. I works for the purpose of having the disk on the rear, but the stock suspension is junk. I think I'll try a +3 with the fox shock. It sounds like the Sik110's is the way to go.

Is anyone out there running the KX65 wheel/caliper assem on one of thier swingarms? Do they offer one with any fab work to help hold the caliper?

    Thnx

I run a Foes +4 swingarm with a KX65 wheel and brake setup. Works pretty good so far. I run the I-shock extended shock and it has plently of travel.
