For such a big engine, I'd recommend getting a 28mm carb. TM, PE, PWK doesn't really matter. They take some messing with, but so does any other carb.
As for Camshafts, yer kind of limited because with the size of the valves and such, there isn't really enough room for a cam with more lift and duration.
You can't really add more overlap. (well ya can, but for the money that you would spend on a new cam, it's not gonna make that big a difference.)
Takegawa's (non +R ) cam seems to work fairly well, but you'll have to check all your clearances.

be leary of what happens on a flow bench. Just like a dyno. What happens on those machines doesn't necessarily make it good for the track.
Anybody can produce good flow and or velocity numbers, just like showing good numbers on a dyno, but it doesn't mean it will be fast nor ridable.
that's just my opinion.
As for where you can get that Takegawa cam, there are plenty of shops out there that will be willing to sell you cams. Crower you can call directly.

thanks for the response,i understand about the flow numbers.but this guy has a long history of producing real/usable numbers.our shop just had him bild some stock class machines for bonneville,zx14,rocket3,-and we set two records,so i a feel confident in his ability.on the crower web site i didn't see any klx camshafts-did i miss something?
