    Kawasaki's new output shaft.

Not sure if everyone's aware of this but Kawi has upgraded the output shaft on the 110's finally. Good news for us, maybe bad news for the folks producing the aftermarket shafts. They did away with the oiling hole and the shaft is solid except for the first 7mm's. The old shaft was bored to around 20mm. Time will tell if they hold up to the big builds but if they do, the part is a lot less expensive than the aftermarket shaft(literally).

Here are some pics of the new shaft and the old.

Yes, and if you order a shaft it will supercede to the new one.

BBR and CHP are gonna love that. If the price on the shaft is comparible to the cases, that shaft should be about $75. Quite a bit cheaper than aftermarket and if you are hooked up through a dealer, even cheaper.

Is this just a repair part or is it in the 08 bikes?

If you order a replacement this is what you will get moving forward, I dont know if it is in all the 08 bikes or not but 2009 bikes will have it. Way to go to kawasaki for acknowledging the problem and trying to improve their bikes.

Trying to find out. They should be able to provide a VIN as to when they started using them.

    Re: Kawasaki's new output shaft.

If the rest of the shaft besides what you have stated is the same, how is it going to be that much stronger? I mean i could see the tip were alot of people break them being stronger but I twisted the splines on mine. If the splines are the same as the old ones then it does not completly fix the problem.

Twisting splines arent the problem 98% people have. So it probably wont fix that... unless its different material.

Is 2nd gear an updated number?!?!?!!??!!!???

I know that that is what i said. I also know that most people don't twist splines but i was wonder if it was a different material or not I forgot so ask that.

its cool that kawi japan finally upgraded the stock parts and we hope this one holds up ,but the bbr and chp performance nuits still may be quite stronger and better for use in the largest builds
