i put my motor in the bike yesterday and let me tell you that thing RIPS!!

but my throttle cable seems to be too short or something.......the throttle is SUPER hard to twist........does anybody know a quick fix for this??

i was thinkin about cutting the cable housing a little bit to give the actual cable more play.

will that work?? or is there something else i can do??

its a 24mm carb

thanks guys

throttle

yes, you can cut it back, but it is a pain in the ass. I did mine with a dremel tool and I took about 1/2 to 5/8 inches off and it worked. If you take too much off though youre screwed.

OK IMA TRY TO CUT IT BACK A TAD BIT TODAY.

SO YOU HAD THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND THATS WHAT YOU DID?? DOES IT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT IM NOW USING A BILLET THROTTLE?? BEFORE IW AS USING A PLASTIC ONE. I REALLY LIKE THE PLASTIC ONES....IF YOU WANNA TRADE FOR LIKE 2 PLASTICS FOR ONE BILLET ITS YOURS!!

THAT THING SUCKS.

I had the same problem going to a 20mm and a billet throttle from a 18mm Pimpin .... You can cut back the cover a little , which is a pain and usually looks like crap when I try it . Or find a different one with more exposed cable . I guess there are two basic lengths of cables ....a long one and a short one .... with a billet throttle and a 24mm you'll need the longer one for sure .....

the only reason im using the billet is because the cable wasnt even long enough to fit in the plastic one. im almost positive that if i cut some of the cable housing back about 1/4" - 1/2" it should give the cable more slack and then i can use my plastic throttle instead of that POS billet one. funny im saying that...usually the billet is the better stufff.....well not in tthis case.

i do have the longer cable.....it said on the package 20mm/24mm so im guessing its for a 20, 22, or 24.....kinda dumb they dont make a cable for each specific carb.....but w/e.

im going to try that when i get off work. im almost positive it will work...and i gotta run it by the gas tank a little better. i think its kinda pinching it.

got my tires yesterday and...........mmmmmmmmmmmmm......they look sweeeeet!

cant wait to drag some knee on the fiddy. :D

Ya I know what you mean about the billet throttles ... I ended up using a really fine file on the inside of my throttle and got it working pretty smooth ... Those Dunlops are sticky arent they ..... you can sink your fingernail into the rubber almost ... I guess they wont be lasting so long .... Oh well ... I just put some knee sliders on my leathers , now I just hope I have the nugs to use em. ... this is cracking me up. Never thought Id see Roadrace leathers hanging in my room ...
