Sounds like a really great time. I really need to head down there soon! Will there be big bike fmx practice the same weekend?

Re: Mini fmx contest [In Georgia] ::

I have some more info for those of you interested. The day/date has been chosen no specific time yet.I am pretty sure we will be aloud to have a warm-up session earlier than the actual event itself. The owner of D-town is really cool and is ok with the idea of everything. As of now the day will be Saturday May 23,2009 That following Sunday the 24th is a poker run at the trails so it will be too busy for hem that day.

As far as the prizes go there will only be a 1st and 2nd place trophy.Everyone else respectfully will go home empty handed but with remembrance of a good time. This is my first ever attempt at an event period so try and go easy on me.I am not to sure on the judges I know it will be possibly 3 if not more? nothing on that yet.I personally will most likely be one of them if I can not get my bike in time.

I'll be sure to keep everyone posted on any info/news.

    Thanks.

    Update:

We have decided to allow the crowd be the judges. That seemed to be the best idea and easiest route. Also the owner informed me they will allow us to use the PA system as well.

your from Augusta or Savannah? Any riders coming from your side of GA? Its going to be tough getting a decent entry list of riders. I try to make any mini related event in GA just to show support, somebody has to. Its hard getting people to the track for a race, only thing I havent tried to get people more intrigued to come to the mini races is get some good video. I even put up a add on craigslist when I rented the BMX track converted to mini moto, and suprisingly I picked up a few local riders. Might try that and see if you can contact FMX east, they might have pitbikes, or know people with them. Word of mouth is best to get people out. I'll do what I can do on my side of town. Wouldnt hurt to make a flyer and post it at your local cycle shop.

the gaps right now are set at 40' and 60'. We were hitting the 40'. The owner prob doesnt mind us shifting them however we want, they move them around alot. They have 3 huge ramps, and you got two huge landings, so its a two jump pass. There are some pics in one the d-town thread.

dont know about the best trick or timed thing. James22 will have to answer that.

see ya at the 2upTomahawk race, and come to think of it that track is about identical to d-towns SX track.

If there is a 2 jump set-up more than likely we will allow a pass per person and just do that a certain amount of times and let the crowds be the judge. If we are short on people things may change up we will just have to see.

The gaps sound awesome, wish I had a bike to ride again I'd def ride and get some interest. But then again I need someone to be the announcer and I may be stuck w/that part.I hope the locals from here can help me out it would be really cool.I actually got a friend from a bike shop in the mid-west taking part and my local tattoo shop is helping out.All in all I have a few good people to help out but man I need some riders!!

    thanks
