How do you handle money races that involve an amateur eligibility?!? Meaning that in the world of MX, you loose your amateur status if you take money for racing...at that point you are considered a pro/expert.

Re: Battle at the Barn Jan. 22-23 in Des Monies, Iowa

Umm i couldnt tell ya, i dnt do any of the promoting. I am just helping them advertise. This race is just a winter fun race not sanctioned by anything, I race hobby stocks in the summer and the promoter of this event is promotes a stock car track. I dnt know too much about MX bikes classes n rules but i guess if your worried about losing the "Amateur" status then just dnt accept the money. I think the amateur class is just for the regular race guys that havent raced indoor coke syrup. There will be guys racing pro flat track bikes n he dnt want them in with the newer guys. Thats all I can help you with on that subject. But if your up for a exciting night of indoor racing drive up. YOu wont be disappointed

Had a good time until I went to get my money at the end of the night and scoring was messed up. Probably never go back unless I get the money they owe me. I ran 2nd from green to checkers and they scored me as 5th. I pressured the winner for the last two laps too.

Was that you in the video? Looking good until the final. Looked like traction went away! Bike sounds great too. What is it?

Re: Battle at the Barn Jan. 22-23 in Des Monies, Iowa

Yes it was me.. No the first time i went down another guy came in hot n hit me , the second time i was pushing it to hard n leaned over to far n caught the swingarm on the ground.. But the traction was going away from the quads n three wheelers kicking it sideways around the corners burning off the syrup... My bike is a SSR 110 A1, bought to ride around the pits when i race my hobby stock. Never intended to race it til i got bored this winter. I also posted vids of the same race that was filmed from the stands too.

Re: Battle at the Barn Jan. 22-23 in Des Monies, Iowa

I just got into the pit bike thing. When i was younger i had an old 80s yamaha 80 that i rode around in the yard but thats but it.. Only raced a bike on the syrup 3 times before that. It was alot harder then i thought it was gunna be but its fun! We got a race here in Waterloo this Saturday that im going too, I won the last one so hopefully i can back that up. Yeah too bad you live over there on the east coast cause im sure you would enjoy it. Do you have any races like that over there?
