IDK , but to me the way the tires sit on more narrow rims , it looks as if they would have way too much flex and you couldn't get the correct feed back from them ?? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please .

    120/80 TT91 on a 2.15"......

One of the few silver ones.

Cam at M&M Racing did the wheel. Got the Rim from TRT and the hub from Moosehunter.

    Compared to a 100/90 TT91 f/r.

Now to me , those rims look like the proper width for the tires .

On the XR based bikes I see people are run'n 12's on them . Does it make the bike steer an dride heavy so to speak because of their rotational mass ? IDK but , I feel it looks like they are ill proportional to the bike and would make it more difficult to manuver the bike around ???? The KLX's look good with 12's but on the Xr's it just looks wrong to me ???

I've seen pics but none in person.

You can take a 100/90 to the edge on a 1.6" rim. I stayed with that combo for the front on my KLX.

As you can see the profile is quite nice.

Yeap they are sweet. Proper tread radius and side wall flex.

Dun-Stone both recommend a 2.50 rim for both the front and rear for miniGP bikes

Kinda tuff on a minitard though.

There are no "slicks in 12" at this time.

Vee Rubber might have some in the end of March.

"race tires" in 12" run from 90$-180$ a set depending on what tires and where you buy them from.............

    BT601SS YCX

    SAVA MC31 Soft

Theres lots of 12" tires labed now as minimotard tires.................

www.ridenow.com has the BT601 front and rear they run about 100$ plus shipping,

theres vendors here that also sell tires sometimes at a discounted price

    durometer readings

heres the results from a very qualified test.

results are the average reading from 6 readings per tire.

This does mean they will stick better or worse than rival tires it only shows the softness of the compound!

    Sava MC16 soft- 54

    Sava MCO soft- 61

Michilin pilotsport- 65 (not the SC tire)

    BT601SS YCX- 47

    TT92GP- 61

soft does not mean has the best traction nor feedback.

Do you have a BT601SS YCY that you can check? The Sava soft should be the same compound........ Do you have a Thai TT91?

used thia TT91.............. wish i had a Michilin SC pilot sport....... but soft does not mean much with out the wear data and quality rider feedback etc...

No YCY, i have not seen one but they should be here. For some reason when ordering these BT601s you are at the whim of the foolz not knowing anything but "it says BT601 whats the difference"............ "whats YCY or YCX........."

If there were a Bridgestone rep that had answers that would be stellar

Just like if the Dunlop USA reps had info to share..............

Maybe Vee Rubber and Sava will really step up to the plate and get crutial information and have tires in stock with reliable distributors???????????

I kinda thought that forum vendors and moderators would be people willing to step up and do this leg work........... on any forum not just here at Planet Minis

I mean why do I/we have to find out every little detail? Dude i just wanna race fast i really don't have lots of extra time and money to track down all this $hit

I just raced with the Shinko 110/90-12 in the rear. (usually run the BT601 and before that a TT91) Pavement only @ Stockton. Weather was sunny and warm. I ran 25psi cold, any softer and the tire seemed to flex a lot.

The initial grip was good but as the race wore on it seemed to want to slide a lot. I lowsided once getting on the gas.

The tread looks like it would work good for double duty of pavement and dirt, but for pavement only, it falls very short of the Dunlop and Bridgestone.

    (i raced a TB143 w/head and 4sp w/14-39 gearing.)

The SAVA Rain might work great, the Shinko 12" motard from Stillwater Xtreme dot Com ala Guy Coopers shop works very well.
