I somehow lost my nsr manual and need to time my counterbalancer. Do I just line up the punch mark in the gear with index arrow on case? when crank is at tdc? any help would be great. Thanks in advance

I somehow lost my nsr manual and need to time my counterbalancer. Do I just line up the punch mark in the gear with index arrow on case? when crank is at tdc? any help would be great. Thanks in advance

I can't really remember if the crank is at TDC or not. Basically turn the crankshaft until the punch mark on the primary drive gear lines up with the arrow on the crank case. Then install the counterbalancer so that the punch mark on the balancer gear lines up with the other arrow on the crank case. If it is done properly the weight on the counterbalancer and crank shaft should always be opposite to each other.
