For all you Pit Bike Engine Experts!!!

Let me give you the rundown gentlemen.

    I have a stock Honda TRX90(atv).

I want more power and have been looking at the "pit bike" engines as a good motor swap. It seems that they will bolt right in, so here comes the questions!

    1) Will the pirahna 125 be a direct motor swap or is the cylinder a little bit longer?

    2) Will the pirahna 140 be a direct motor swap or is the cylinder longer than stock?

Are these good motors or should I be looking at something else. I really like the kits that they throw together as well. I'll obviously need to use the stock intake tube however with my TRX because I have an airbox and intake tube, so I think that is a good idea.

Let me know, I'm getting excited because this should be a rocket ship with three times the power, Its a blast in the winter time!

Thanks for the info and its good to be a member....

I really want a manual transmission to be honest with you.

What are the benefits of using the 114?

Yeah I figured that, he's got a ton of posts. I did some research on that kit and its $150. I want the best bang for my buck. I definately see advantages. I can use my HONDA motor and my pullstart. I'm going to want a cam then while I'm in there, so there goes some more $$. I was thinking that it may be possible for the TRX90 flywheel, puller pulley, and flywheel cover to bolt onto one of these aftermarket engines. Then I wouldn't have a need for the kickstart. Just a guess. I do have fab. skills and all the tools needed to make the conversion into the chassis. I do want reliability however. The TRX90 motor has been bulletproof for me. My little brothers' however, we have melted a piston and had to pound the wristpin out. We rebuilt it with one of those stock replacement kits off ebay. Its been bulletproof since March. He'll most likely be needing a new crank and all that jazz though with this new winter rebuild. I figured for the price of these engines, we should just to a conversion.

What do you guys think? Just trying to give you my situation......
