    Car audio? I'm clueless...

I'm looking for a good system to put into my vehicle...and have to say, I'm completely clueless on what's good and what's bad. I look and craigslist and every add is talked up like its the best system in the world.... I like listening to rock, so I want something somewhat clear, but then also something that would keep up with that 2LiveCrew junk ya know? What's good what's bad?

I listen to a lot of rock and in my 4 door tacoma I have 2 solobaric 8's with 1100 watts going to them, and it sounds awesome and hits fast as fock! It can handle the fastest double bass' with ease and still be clear.

Yeah see when you say you have 1100 watts going to 8's I can't tell if that's a great/good/decent setup, but what would 2000 watts do to those speakers? I guess the bigger the sub the lower the sound? More watts = lower/higher frequencies?

    Thanks for the feedback guys

Solo barics are good speaker but not the best. Some people say they are are mono tone (what ever the heck thats' supposed to mean).

What vehicle do you have/ how much are you willing to spend?

these are going to be my next investment... 4 of them with 2000 + watts.

    Re: Car audio? I'm clueless...

Right now I am looking at a 1997 Z28 Camaro...I've had my eye on it for a while now and I'm going to make a decision on it soon. There obviously won't be too much room for a whole lot of speaker but I can stuff speakers behind the seats or in the trunk area. Just looking for something that can rattle the person in the car next to me a little bit... don't need to be heard from 3 blocks down or anything like that...

My friends have giant F250's with systems that can seriously make your back sore from vibration after a 15 minute drive with the right music...I know I can't compete, but I can atleast take pride in what I've got

This is the setup that I like... would have to choose speakers/amp...

I ended up buying a 2001 Ram 1500. It suits me better for driving in Colorado...anyways.

Would I be severely disappointed if I bought this?
