    Guys,
Here is my 1971 Honda K2 Minitrail Hardtail. I started with a basket case that I picked out from Kajun Mini Trails. I knew nothing about hardtails at the time other then I thought they looked cool and I wanted one with a footbrake. I had no idea what I was getting myself into as there was barely any parts left that were usable when I purchased the bike other then the frame the wheel hubs and a few miscellaneous parts. I quickly learned how hard some of these parts were to find and over the course of a year and a couple months of searching all of the chat boards and ebay I finally found all the hard to find missing parts and started to get it together. I replaced every nut, bolt, washers and spring on the bike with Stainless steel with few exceptions. All the fenders, handlebars, Taillight, Taillight Bracket, Gas Tank, Tank badges, grips and hard to parts are all genuine Honda. I even found a Honda Speedometer and grey speedometer cable that we added to the bike. I stripped the frame and forks down to the bare metal epoxied it all and then had it sprayed by Little Farms collision with base coat clear coat high quality automotive paint. I rebuilt what was left of the original engine and updated it with CDI ignition, TB High volume oil pump, New Crank, Bearings Seals, 4 speed transmission, TB High compression Piston, CC Racing ported E22 Head, TB Race cam, TB Manifold and Keihin 24mm carb and turned it into 107cc of pure fun. I then wired the bike with a new wiring harness and converted everything over to twelve volts. I rebuild the front forks with heavy duty springs and delrin bushings. Added some aluminum wheels with German Heidenau tires along with new bearings, Seals and brakes.

Here is a link to the entire buildup Carlo's Hardtail Build Up Thread. .

This is basically a brand new 1971 Honda Mini Trail with the exception that in my opinion with the upgrades it is now better then when it was new. It runs great and is a complete blast to ride. The little engine has way more power then is needed and pulls to 50+ mph in no time. Everywhere I go with this bike people stop and tell me there stories of there Honda Mini's it is really fun to hear them.

Hope you guys enjoy the pics:
Here is how I got it-

After 14 months of hard work and patience-

    My low and wide dax:

Custom wide wheels: 5inch wide in front, 6.2 in the back
Widened forks and swingarm to fit the wheels
Custom fork legs -7cm and bracket to fit the nissin 6p caliper
Custom carbon fenders made from a mould on original honda fenders then widened
Cleaned al the welds on the frame swinger and forks
Custom exhaust close to the engine to make the bike "driveable" with hotlap 211 silencer
Added some carbon parts, and polished a lot like the fcr28...

More in my build up tread:
