The Pitster Pro 140 crate engines are the only 140 that now has the close ratio trans!! as well as the Daytona style ignition!!
These things kill the older style granny low first gear 140 engines!!
add the 146 and cam and you have an engine that rips!

Re: Pitsters 140!!
i just got the pp 125. the salesman told me that the 125 has the closer trany not the 140. they can be purchased for 349 or 379. my 125 sounds really mean. lots of power. if you have a stock crf i hope you have a welder ready. the mount for the oil cooler needs to be mounted someway. i cut the nipple off and welded it behind the key. finding a spot for the ignition is tough. i recomened building a box and placing it near the motor mount.
you will need a new twist throttle. the stock crf throttle will not open the carb enough for full throttle( and thats if you can find a way to take up the slack in the cable) i modified a mountain bike adjuster.

The 125 does have the close ratio trans, and higher compression piston, and a few other details, the 140s just came in with the close ratio trans.

Re: Pitsters 140!!
So what kinda jetting should I be running at 1800'? Also what would my best upgrades for this motor be? I am finishing up the install this week, just need to get my oil cooler mounted ( lines supplied are too short) so I gotta find some hose for now. I'm excited to ride it but still need a bunch more parts chassis wise to do so like pegmount and brake pedal that clears clutch cover.
