i qualified 3rd into the main which meant i got one of the first gate picks which is key to even doing good in the main, i get to my gate and the bike wont start look down to find out someone took wire cutters and snipped my bump start wire as angry as i was, i was (not surprised with the scum bags and cheaters that were there) after all the hard work and money i spent to make it out someone fucked me by doing that.i cant even explain to you guys how angry i still am main event went to shit because of that, i tell the guy at the gate who is one of the promoters please give me 2 minutes to fix this he says go you have 2 minutes i come back less then a minute later he had already given up my spot and put me second row back behind all the people who barley qualified and told me its my fault i left my bike unattended. no matter what i said i just got yelled at and disrespected by him.

Sounds like a crappy trip. Congrats on the qualifier tho. Pit bikes shouldn't really be so serious IMO. I don't think there's a ton of money to be made in the whole scene at this point. It seems like those involved with pit bikes stay involved b/c they want to be. --L*64

Sounds like a trip to mmsx is a waste of time and money, one expensive trip to the circus. I say just race locally and have a good time with the racers that do it because we enjoy the competition with each other and many happen to be friends. The glam days of Vegas are long over in my opinion. Sux that your bike got messed with, goes to show ya how some f-ing scumbags will do anything to beat their competition.

I had a great trip I went down went to enduro cross stopped by the mini moto pits on saturday to say hi to everyone went and got pizza watched sx and drove home sunday. I have been to mini moto for the past 4 years and because of the above things that happen I decided not to attend. Id be very surprised if they held the event next year. if they do it better be at south point...

Sorry to hear you had a crappy experience, that all sounds pretty messed up. I was planning on trying to go to the 2013 MMSX but now I think I'll spend my time and effort trying to promote pitbikes locally instead.

In 07 at Loretta Lynn's qualifier at tomahawk mx park. Someone cut the gas lines on all of my bikes and drained all of my gas out of all the tanks onto the ground. My father went to tell the announcer so he could warn other riders to check there gas lines. By the time my father got back the owner of the track walked up to me. He gave me the gas line off his bike cus he wasn't racing. I was second Moto of the day and he told me just to use his to race and he went out and bought me enough gas line to fix all my bikes and would not take money from my father for it.

That's motocross and the way it should be. My father has helped someone change a rear wheel to the kid 5 bikes down from me on the gate at Loretta Lynn qualifier. And that kid happened to be the only kid who had faster lap times then me in practice. He ended up winning n I took second. He only won cause he had my rear wheel. Lol hahaha. . We r all here to do the same shit and that's to ride n have fun. The fun stops when the gate drops but before that we all are friends n need to help eachother when needed.

I have been racing for 15 years An I only had two bad incidents. The one where they cut my gas lines and some one stole my gas cap vents lol. So I would say u r fine. 15 years racing every weekend from march to October and two incidents. I think u r fine. Most motocrossers are here to help no mater what but u just get one hit head everyonce in a while.

Yea it's unbelievable that someone would do that to someone else's bike just to win. I would have loved to see someone do it, it would have been the last time they would have used there hands.. The France guys from Bucci had a pro rider in the amature class, had a 48 inch bike in the 10" class, valade was probably one of the dirtiest riders there tried to take Abrigo out so dirty which only makes the Bucci team look bad.. And the promoters where just rude and disrespectful to the riders didn't look like they did it because they like the sport looked like they did it for the money.

I had 8th gate pick for the main which meant first row, get to the gate my hike won't start look for any problems see the Bunps start wire was cut. I tell the guy give me 2 minutes to fix it he said ok, I come back a minute later he have my gate up and put me dead last behind 2nd row of all the slow guys who barley qualified. Gate drops all the people pile up in the corner I get around to probably 6th place by the 3rd corner some kid goes Down infront of me and took me with him my bike was stuck on him I get up an going already got passed by a few guys go another lap some fucking idiot locks his breaks and I stalled my bike. Get it going again already in dead last passes a few more guys go to take a inside line and fall. It was all downhill from the getco shitty ass start Cus that stupid Mother fucking promoter wouldn't hold my gate like he said he would. I would have podiumd 100% if that scumbag didn't fuck my bike up and I got my original gate. You don't wanna know how I angry I was...

I have to be the voice of reason!

1. Promoters didn't make crap off that race! Does anyone realize the cost of holding an event in the Orleans casino? More than most people make in a year, maybe 3! Then consider advertising, employees, ect. They could easily replace this event with any type of mx sport and triple their profits!
2. Sorry Koby, your downfalls came from yourself. If your bump start was cut, most likely the folks in your pit did it. Sounds like someone got even with you. If your gate was taken, its your fault. He's right, you left the gate unattended. Did you expect him to put a reserved sign up and, or be your personal bouncer and kick the 4th qualifier back to the second row? Hold the gate with his fingers crossed that maybe you will come back? Maybe you should of asked or told the rider that was your gate and not argued with a person that just calls names out. Be extremely glad they held up the race just for you. I make sure my bike starts ever time before I go to the gate, just like every other racer. Most everyone knows they should warm up their motor before a race. Unless you want it to explode. Straight from the AMA rulebook-Once a rider enters the staging area and is called to the starting gate, the rider or his motorcycle will not be permitted to return to the paddock. If the rider or his motorcycle leaves the staging area after this point, he or she will not be permitted to start the race. Your lucky they actually let you race! If anything that proves how cool they are!
3. What does it matter if they decided to make very minor adjustments to the layout. It was for the best. I've helped make several backyard tracks and not once did we ever stick to the layout we drew out. When the actual building takes place you realize the flaws on your layout and improve on it. Would you of really preferred a track with a 100ft. whoop section directly out of the corner?
4. We all know Valade is a dirty rider. Who cares? Its minimoto! Didn't hear you mentioning about Abrigo cutting off, and slamming a lapped rider into the container. A move in my mind that could of had him black flagged and a loss of his long deserved #1 plate!
5. Not one AMA pro card holder entered an amateur moto. Maybe there was a few riders that enter expert classes at their local races. But there is a big difference between the two classifications of pro and expert. Plus there are clear guide lines to disqualify those "experts" that entered both classes and were riding to fast. Not to mention the class is even listed as expert, not pro!
6. I had my own problems and dealt with the promoters who were more than helpful and respectful. If I could chose friends Pernod and Becky would be at the top of that list! Far from money hungry. Becky was answering the phone like she was operating a call center in India. Dealing with everyone's stupid questions. Pernod does it for the passion of MX. Google him and you will find his real motivation. He's the reason Mcgrath use to race. Minimoto isn't very profitable compared to other forms of racing. Maybe 5 years ago, but not today.

Minimoto isn't perfect, far from it, but what is. If you have a legitimate concern, idea, or just feel like bitching, contact the promoters in a respectful manner. There has been numerous bitching threads year after year about minimoto. But how many people actually gave feedback to the promoters? How many people helped to make it a better event? You can count that list on one hand! How many stupid bitching threads? Too many to count!
