    Motor swap XR75 - HTH

Wanted to post an engine swap that went well. I swapped a XR75E with a HE01E (maybe 1981-83), bolted right in and ignition was the same. Use the 1977 coil, since its a 77 frame with a 1974 motor (I believe that is what the XR75E designates). This thing was all over the place from a parts perspective. However, it would be hard to find a better play bike and something so easy to ride, bling factor=0, she's not pretty.

    Issues:
    1. rust in tank - used muriatic acid to remove, repeated flushing
    2. replaced points/condenser with new which was ordered for the 75E motor (must be the same)
    3. cleaned carb, what a mess

As for the 75E, I was thinking about rebuilding it as a project. Is there a one stop shop out there that can help with parts? I would be interested in making a super mini out of that one. Just not sure about where to get the goodies.

The PM website has been really helpful and i appreciate everyone posting their 'how to's', came in handy.

What is the complete serial number on the XR75 engine? The HE01 engine is an XR80 engine.

I think a honda cb125 or even a xr200 fits right in there.

Cb125 may but I pretty sure the XR200 is way to big to just bolt in. (everything is possible with fabrication)

IF i had an XR75 i would run an XR100 motor in it with a TB 120cc kit
that way you can still put the OEM motor right back in

What would be the best approach for the 1975 motor. I want to rebuild it, but while i am at it maybe bore/stroke if that is still an option for that year motor. Could someone tell me if there is a "one stop shop" for those accessories and machine work?
