OK, got the TTR50 GYTR Jet Kit, Got the Uni Pod Filter, Got the Yosh TRS (already mounted). I have looked at old TTR50 GYTR Jetting posts and get the point. It would seem the included GYTR Jetting instructions are WRONG (especially regarding needle clip position). The consensus seems to be placing the clip on the 5th grove from the bottom and running the 72.5 (I am at SoCal, sea level). Has anyone out here already been through this Jetting kit Successfully? If so, please let me know what your final clip position and main ended up. I hate reinventing the wheel!
I have the gytr kit and I used the 72.5 main and I think it's 5 up from the bottom or the 2nd one down. I can't remember what clip it's on. If you google it it will come up with a thread from this site that tells you the misunderstanding on the instructions.
every bike is different... altitude, fuel , temp, humidity, even gearing can change the jetting and even spark plugs.. Just have to play with it till its right, spent about 4 hrs last night on my 110cc ttr50, to get the new mikuni vm26mm dialed in. had to use a 165main and 15 pilot and its right on the edge of still being lean.
Ya, I know. Jetting can be hourly specific. I think I am procrastinating because my Kitaco 20mm is supposed to be on the way very soon. Then I'll have to start all over again...
Got it installed according to the instructions except the needle clip was put on 5th from the BOTTOM. There are only 5 positions on the needle so this is the very top and matches the "height" of the stock needle. Main was 72.5 and air screw 1 1/4 turns out. Everything else was stock. Bike runs great! Started easily, pulled clean off idle in all gears and went to redline without any hickups. FYI - Temp was 65 and sunny with maybe a bit higher than usual humidity. These setting are very workable as a starting point for fine tuning.
