Will CRF forks work?
Hey, I want to grab a set of big forms with a front disc brake for my TTR 50, I was wondering if these Lifan ones, INVERTED FORKS 12" WHEEL XR50 CRF50 XR CRF 50 PIT BIKES would work for my TTR, it looks like they should, I think the stem should mathc up, anybody have any ideas?

Re: Will CRF forks work?
I am going through researching this right now so here are a couple of facts to consider. The frame neck on a TTR50 is larger than a CRF50's: 5 15/16" vs 5 1/2". Not sure how much thread each stem gives you to play with between triple clamps but you will need to make up an almost 1/2" difference in nut locations if you go with a CRF stem (the stems do swap by the way). Also, the CRF bearing races are both 40mm dia. The TTR bearing races are 43mm upper and 48mm lower so theoretically CRF front end bearings will fit on a TTR but not the other way around. I would like to run some high end tapered bearings but have only found them for the CRF. In my case I am exploring the "hard" route of trying to find 43-48mm tapered bearings or getting custom shims made to run CRF tapered bearings and try to not swap stems (this might not work though and why I am still in research mode). For the forks you posted I would just have the stems swapped and run the stock TTR bearings/races. Let me know how it turns out.

Re: Will CRF forks work?
What do you mean by swapping the stems? Cutting them off and welding a new one on?
My boy trashed his forks and I am looking for repair options.

Re: Will CRF forks work?
I am still researching what press in stem can be used on a TTR50 frame (but I am going with Zokes). The ideal stem would have the same length but work with tapered bearings. Pax did one of these awhile back but he could not remember the details of the build.

Re: Will CRF forks work?
I would really like to get that info. If I had realized how bad my boy's forks were, I would have reverse engineered something over the winter. But now it's time to ride!

Re: Will CRF forks work?
I have a set of 2ho's extended fork kit and a set of heavy springs...not really what you are looking for but it would repair your clapped out stocker forks

Re: Will CRF forks work?
Do you use the stock 50 stem or do you have to weld another one on? Also, what bearings so you use?
