    Hard to shift

    Hello folks,



    I bought a ttr50 for my son last week and it has about three hours of riding time on it. I think it's way too hard to shift. Has anyone else had this problem? I have a pw80 and it is very easy to put through the gears compared to this bike. I'm going to take it back to the dealer tomorrow just needed some input. Any help would be appreciated.\

    mine is pretty hard to shift as well, you really have to pull up to get it into the next gear. I think someone mentioned the stock clutch plates on the ttr50 to be more heavy duty than a stock crf50.

    yes..hes correct, im not 100% sure but on the left side of the motor (when sitting on the bike) there is a cap with two screws that says yamaha...take it off and adjust that a little bit and see if it doesnt get easier to shift
