Exhaust recommendation
I'm interested to hear recommendations on an exhaust system to buy. I have a Z50A engine with an 88cc big bore kit and 20mm carb. I would like to keep it somewhat quiet but not restrict the engine as well. Of course cost is always an issue but I can reach a little if need be. Any suggestions?

Re: Exhaust recommendation
Thanks for the recommendation. I neglected to mention that the Z50A engine is in a 1984 Z50R Chassis. It looks like the Minigunz is for the hardtail chassis only?

according to Mike's website, it is supposed to fit all models.

Re: Exhaust recommendation
I have the trail bikes pipe on my 96 Z and I love it. It's pretty quiet, but it has a removable baffle if you want to let it rip. best of both worlds.

Re: Exhaust recommendation
Thanks to all for the info. I like the option to go quiet or take out the baffle to let 'er rip. I'll likely go that way.
Thanks again. This forum is an awesome source of info.

Re: Exhaust recommendation
I have an 84 as well. This pipe will not exit under the seat like the stock pipe does now, correct? Will I still be able to put my stock side cover back on, over the pipe?

I really doubt it. I have yet to see any pics of an aftermarket exhaust system that lays flat against the chassis like the OEM pipe. Of course the OEM pipe has a diameter smaller than a 25 cent piece while the aftermarket offerings are mostly larger than a coke can's diameter. Reason tells you that the bigger the exhaust hole the more freely the bike can breathe and run.

Re: Exhaust recommendation
I'll try to get a pic. of my pipe without the plastics covering it, so you guys can see how it fits. Hopefully by tonight.

After looking at the pictures that Drained posted, it looks as though it would be necessary to fab up a couple of aluminum spacers and use longer bolts to mount the right side number plate bracket.
PS, thanks, Neil, for posting those up...
