my plan is to do the modification in a yamaha nouvo-z it has a 115cc 4stroke engine, this is a kind of scooter popular here in philippines. engine is compatible with the yamaha cygnus.

    goodluck to your proj.

Japanese manufacture wont lessen the price. The price now is direct from KOSO Factory. Once Japanese company get a hold of this kit, they will need to add a whole lot of cost, freight, duty, tax, profit etc...

Just look at the comparison photo of this kit to my 138cc DOHC kit. The KOSO 180cc DOHC kit is superior to quailty over my 138cc DOHC kit. One is water cool and one is air cool. We all know the disadvantage of water cool engine is its manufacturing cost. To top it off, my 138cc DOHC kit is double the price of this KOSO 180cc DOCH kit

This KOSO DOHC kit doesn't include a crankshaft. Will the Yamaha Cygnus scooter's crankshaft fit your bike or do you need other specifications? There are aftermarket crankshaft for the Cygnus scooter available in TW. The aftermarket crankshaft is better in quality and material when compare to the stock Cygnus crankshaft.

We are designing our own crankshaft at the moment, to be used with our crankcase that we are designing. For the engine we are designing, max RPM should be about 14000RPM.

I don't have a scooter with this KOSO DOHC kit so I can't answer your questions

We are still designing and producing our own crankcase to suit this KOSO DOHC kit for monkey bike. We are finish with the design of the crankcase and we are now working on the design of the crankshaft and a few other parts. We wont have a final dyno test until the engine is fully build.

You would have to search some racing scooter forum for those figures that you are looking for since our engine is still being design.

I have check with my friends that ride the Cygnus scooter. The aftermarket crankshaft are all locally produce and all Taiwanese brands. My friend say performance on most of the aftermarket crankshaft are about the same. All aftermarket crankshaft for Cygnus cost about 5000nt in TW.

I am still waiting for him to send me the photos of the crankshafts.

If you want to order the KOSO cylinder kit, than let me know. At another of my friends bike shop, he have a few kits instock.

The KOSO DOHC kit are now selling in Japan under the KOSO brand for about 120,000 yen. Very good price since it is very similar price to TW.

We should have our 1st running motor in the next few weeks. We have also gotten great news from KOSO that there will be several different spec of camshaft available for this motor

Finally some update on this race motor we are designing and manufacturing.

This is the CNC crankcase on the CNC machine.

This set of CNC crankcase is only going to be use for testing and once testing is done. We will go into manufacturing : )

The custom crankshaft should be in the next 1-2 weeks and we will be read to test run this motor we got : )

Exact same size as my Takegawa 138cc DOHC. Our will be 180cc DOHC : ) This is only the beginning. Once we bore and stroke, expect to see a max of 250cc and over 30hp : )
