Detailed info on a lowered ct70 front end?

I'm pushing ahead on my ct70 project and am looking to get the front end worked out. I've got an '83 ct70 with newer style front forks I dont like. Im looking to lower the bike and I'm having a hard time finding much information in one place regarding what it is I should be looking at to get this done. I will be going with disk brakes so my lowers will need to have all the bits to allow for that.

Can I fit an entire z50 front end on or would I be using an older model ct70 upper with z50 lowers? Are there new front end kits available to fit directly onto my 70 already lowered? Prefer not to add garbage to the build as i'd hate to kill myself when it falls apart on the road.

I'd very much appreciate a more detailed explanation on some of the issues, solutions, and options I can take!

I've got the papers for the bike with 900km original on it. I stripped the bike, had it soda blasted and primed, waiting for paint. I've got a can of candy apple red waiting, but will need all my parts for paint before I proceed to that!

    Thanks!

    Matt.

Hey Matt, check out Razzo's lowered CT. He will probably chime in when he sees your post. Good luck.

The z50a k0, k1 and k2 (hardtail) complete front forks can be used to lower the front end. Headlight mounts will be different but can be cut off/weld ct70 brackets on)You can then swap the fork legs for the custom legs that have the bracket to run a disc brake caliper.

Also G-craft do a wide lower version of the fork tops:

I just recently asked Razzo about how he did his lowered CT and here's what he said:
On the lowering. 280mm shocks out back. Front forks. Cut the springs, not the legs. Too much work. Easier to cut the springs. Also cut off some of the bump stop collar that screws in to the springs. Probably took about 1.5 inch out of the springs. I can't remember right now. Should have wrote it down like I usually do. Duh!

Mike, hope you don't mind me posting this.
