No problem, but I would feel better if you thank me AFTER you fire up the 88, LOL. It was fun hanging out. Now get that thing running! Pic of Notorious 69z50, and his pimped 88 mo-mo.

It is so tempting to go tracker. The high bars I had on earlier with a tracker tank and seat fairing. Yeah! The clip-ons on this mock up are from a chinese crotch rocket, and not ones I am going to use, so you never know. I have some ideas for a seat that might be cool, but once again, waiting on parts. I will be unable to do much mini stuff this week, and will be only sporadically online. I will be anxious to get this build rolling some more, but it will be the end of the week before you guys hear much from me. Pics of the Super50 after a ride last night.

    Davmo...

Did a little barn digging while in North Dakota last week. I found a CB160 in dirty, but excellent shape. The tank is a baby blue color with chrome sides and both original rubber pads in place. The tank itself looks like a great size and shape for your project. I can certainly get one of my relatives to pull it and ship if down to Texas if you would like one. Otherwise it may be worth looking for a similar tank down here.

    Here is a picture.

Matt, very cool tank. You know my taste. I would love to get my hands on that cool piece of vintage steel. Think about what you would want for it, and let me know. Thanks for letting me know. I will be out of pocket a couple more days, but this week-end is good. Thanks again.

F5, the seat was made from 20 guage steel, 1/4" steel on the base, and valve springs from a car. Even the LED's I made from bare components. I can show you how I did it, i may have pictures.

Funny... I was going to use some AMC 401 valve springs for a seat I had in mind for the 69.

This one uses '65 Mustang springs. third seat i've used them on. Next seat I will be trying something a little different.

Hey, Bro. The seat has not been started. Still waiting on a shock that I plan to use to make a sprung seat. Just got back from a multi leg roadtrip, about 2800 miles since last Monday. I was home about 36 hours in between the first and second trip, and managed to mock up the rest of the exhaust. I will get some pics up later tonight. Hope your intake and exhaust are ready, I know you can't wait to ride.

Yeah I still need to get pics of the bike now she is nearly done, as you know it runs and it is great.
Are you going to use valve springs again or something else? What about an air bag so you can adjust the firmness. Thought you might have been on the road since you weren't online to much.
Have you gotten around to mounting the foot pegs yet?

There may be a spring involved, but the plan is to use a Fox Float for a mountainbike to try and dampen some of that hardtail harshness.

OK, some more progress pics. Found a Supertrapp can online, have always dug the look of the plain black cone. Put in a second step in the mid-section of the pipe, and made a hanger bracket for the can. The first pic is a painting on a building in downtown Cincinnati, looks like maybe a flat tracker?

little bit of figuring tonight. The rear brake and master are just lying in place on the side of the bike. The brake pivot and footpeg mount are yet to be worked out, probably a steel plate that spans the lower portion of the frame loops. You can see where the footpegs will go, under the brake arm. The Fox Float shock got here. It will take some time to figure the seat exactly. Then there's the front steering tube swap-out. Tomorrow I will be getting back to it a little more.

Got a little more done today. Made a bracket for the footpeg and brake pedal to mount on. Brake pedal and master are from a 2006 CRF450. Bought on line. Unfortunately the pedal is bent. Pics of cardboard templates- third time's the charm, and the footpeg tacked in place. the shifter is going to be a challenge, as is the seat.

Looks good davmo. So is that the tank you are going to use or is it a poser till you decide what to use? I remember someone found one in a barn that they offered you.
