    Z50 Book

Found this new Z50 book. This paper copy book is 144 pages of rare photos of each model and shows the evolution of the Honda Mini Trail over its lifespan. For the Z50 Enthusiasts, this book presents facts and figures found nowhere else.
It covers all Z50's from 1969-1999 in color.
You will not be dissapointed in this book. A few Planet Minis members are credited in the book. There is no ZB50...

    Only z50r to 1999 or also z50j to 99?
(In your sample pics I see only z50r.)

1968-1999. I don't have the book but I believe it is for US market bikes only.

The book has the 1967 Z50M too and it mentions the CZ. Here is a pic of the table of contents and the acknowledgements.

I had been wondering if he acknowledged Gary Lewis of VHM. Good to see that he gave him a nice mention.

The bike on the cover looks exactly like the one I had when I was a kid. Same color and everything.

Good to hear. Ryan H0ffman of Alberta ***Canada*** too. His bikes are absolutely mint. He sent me this pic a while ago and I was amazed on the condition of his bikes.I hope he doesn't mind if I post this. ......

My book arrived, got a copy off ebay, best price etc. I didn't realize the author was a fellow Minnesotan, who knew dontcha know, so anywho then.....ya, we need the rain and all.....

Sorry, slipped into the dialect for moment there. Great to see a book made about our favorite mini's, a great resource for sure, kind of a rough read I felt, while I appreciate the info and "solving mysteries" it kinda bogs down when every third word seems to be a serial number from a frame or engine.

I'm interested in these types of facts, but after awhile it can make your head spin trying to keep track of it all. I would have liked more good big shots of the various bikes to compliment the detail smaller shots it already has.

These are minor things though, I'd recommend anyone with a Z50 interest pick up a copy, tons of hard to find info available and great pics, neat to learn a lot more about the history on these machines we all love so much!

The author Jeremy is known as "ctkrate" on EBay. He's been on there for years. Sold him some NOS stuff of mine.

Jeremy gave me his phone number to talk mini trails sometime, but I need to get spring chores done first. I have found on mine the original foot peg rubbers are not marked with any Honda markings like his book says but the complete NOS foot rest assembly I bought in the early 90's does. Every part I changed out with NOS in the 90's I still have except the taillight/license bracket and the chain guard. Too late now but I want to check and see if I really did get NOS! Can't wait for the rumored CT 70 book

You received NOS parts. Not all NOS Honda are correct. Parts were manufactured for Honda by outside companies. Naturally small changes are made but quality still remains at Honda level. The original rubbers had the "Hm" hallmark. NOS did not. You will find differences in many NOS parts. Bikes built from strictly NOS would lose many points in a concours judging. Like the NOS KO-K2 Honda rims. Points off for having a HM hallmark and rim size stamped into them.Had the displeasure of judging bikes for years. Bike Shows are horrible to me. Have boxes full of trophies and threw a lot out. Meaningless.

NOS is not always correct. Original is. And it only happens once. If you restore a bike today you might as well paint it any color you want. Most parts available are incorrect. Paint it your favorite color and ride it!!! Thats what they were built for!!!
