    Advice For Stripped 1977 Z50

New member here, looking for some advice. I picked up a total rust bucket of a 1977 z50 last year and have been slowly trying to get it sorted out. Painted everything and replaced the tires, tubes, points, lights, piston, chain, handlebars, carb, tank, and exhaust. Got it running enough to ride it down the street today, which was fun, but it's still not quite right (I think some carb issues) and it's leaking oil from the valve cover, kick start, and close to the sprocket.

I really like working on bikes and fixing them up, but whoever had this bike before me absolutely butchered it. A ton of bolt holes have been stripped, and threaded for SAE, and stripped again. Working on it has been a nightmare as a result. The intake valve tappet cover is stripped and I can't get it off, the sprocket cover bolt holes are stripped, several hub bolt holes are stripped, the intake boot bolt holes are stripped, and one wheel sprocket bolt is stripped. It's driving me crazy having a mixture of metric and SAE stuff, and I can't do some simple maintenance like setting the valve clearance.

All that to say, I'm looking for some advice on how to proceed. My biggest issues are the stripped manifold intake and tappet cover. Should I just replace the top end, or would it be worth looking into something like a Lifan engine since other things are stripped and leaking oil? Definitely not trying to restore this thing to show room condition, but I want it to run and be reliable.

If your not doing a full restoration on it I would say save $$ and do China engine. But if your able to do engine work top end is pretty easy and you could. Heli coil the top end parts
