Looks like possibly the tank and frame were salvaged. That is the best looking Z50 i have ever seen. Congratulations. The headlight makes the bike IMO.

    G'Day,

its not my bike, belongs to a mates friend in Germany, its just a brilliant showcase what can be archieved over a winter.... without all them order and bolt on parts....

many more parts have been polished, re-chromed, painted....not just the tank and frame!

It's a very good looking bike. I especially like the wheels and color scheme.

The Z50J1 is the same bike as our Z50AK3-1978 bikes.

Very tastefully done bike. Another fine restomod effort.

One thing that always sticks out, is the Europeans like to paint their hubs to match the rest of the bike. In this case, it looks great, but many times on a CT70 hubs, I like the Silver or Chrome better.

    G'Day,

"...Europeans like to paint their hubs to match the rest of the bike..."

some polish the hubs and paint the rims but too much work keeping the alloy hubs all shiny and polished with all the nooks and crannies...its for showbikes only IMHO.

will be painting my Dax hubs as well in black and either chrome the Dax rims or use silver paint with a very high "metalic" content... will see ... starting with my 10" wheels next week... just bought the sealed bearings for the six set we got here.... still have to visit our powder coater in Shanghai and see what he can do?!
