    CT70 GPX160 install

It was time for a new engine for my CT70. I decided to call up Vince at Tbolt and have him send me a GPX160. The thing RIPS, even with my tall (17/35 on my 10 wheels) gearing, horrible exhaust and smokey Molkt carb. I need a 32t on the rear. I ordered a Twobros M6 system that should be here tomorrow..

    Here are some pics...

Hey, don't laugh at my sweet DRZ110 test pipe...

That is a real nice bike. I also need an engine for my CT70. I will probably go with the GPX125. Where did you get the brakes and shocks?

Let me know how long a tank of gas lasts on the road with that motor please. I am curious...

I bought them off of ebay and made my own headlight ears. I believe they originally came off of a Jailing, They're 27mm hydraulic forks that came with the disc setup, I cut them down an inch and installed new seals and fluid, they work real nice. I can't find them on ebay anymore, mokeybikeuk has them for way more money.

Nice motor and bike. In pic#1, How close is the front fender to the top of the cyl head?

Curious to know your top speed once you get it geared right.

Hi tmas, the front fender is almost an inch from touching the head. Not sure on the top speed yet. I took it out this morning for it's first real ride. So far I can tell that it's way faster than my Lifan 143 TB/Cat5 with the same gearing, but mostly it's got a lot more mid range torque even at speeds of 35-45 mph. I feel there's a lot of potential with this motor.

Ebay specials, cheap Chinese stuff.. They're 330mm long, even though they were inexpensive they actually do a nice job.

No offense Dan! It just annoys me how they buy run of the mill chinese engines by the container load, silk screen GPX on the side covers and charge $300+ more for em.

    Great looking CT!

If I could've bought a YX160 for less money than the GPX branded engine I would've done it. I have to give Pitster credit for seeing the oportunity and packaging the YX into their own crate engine. My Lifan was dead and needed something to replace it with. I'm a pretty big Lifan fan but wanted to try something different. I liked the fact that the GPX has the standard CRF50 mounting but with the KLX type of head. Pretty sweet combo, I thought I did ok..

    It's all good....

That engine looks great on there! I'm surprised but excited that there's so much clearance to the front fender.

Post some more pics when you get your pipe.
