How long has it been running like this? is the oil injector hooked up or bypassed? fresh gas? whats the spark plug look like? do you have 2t oil in it? is it smoking?

If oil injected bikes sit too long, the oil will accumulate and take a while to clear out.

 

i bought the bike a few months ago from someone who had the same issues with it. oil injector is hooked up, fresh gas and a new plug, its smoking but just looks like a normal 2 stroke when it does.

 

Are the jets in the new carb the same as the old carb? how about compression?

Ok I managed to get it idling somewhat by adjusting the pilot and idle air screw but it'll slow down idling and then stall with gas dripping out of the overflow tube. How do I set the float height?

 

I think you've got some junk in the float needle. I'd clean that before adjusting the float. If it still leaks then adjust it

ok, so i fixed the gas leaking issue by using the floats from the original carb in the replacement carb. i still can't seem to get the idle issue fixed, it seems to have problem staying at a given rpm. adjusting the pilot air screw has no effect on the idle speed. if you adjust the idle air screw all the way in it'll idle too quickly so i'll loosen it up a bit and the idle will just slow down and stall unless i keep blipping the throttle. any suggestions?
